Kennetha Julien concentrates her practice in the areas of Divorce, Marital, Family Law, Wills and Probate, and Professional License Defense. Her family law practice includes dissolution of marriage (divorce), custody, paternity, child support, domestic violence injunctions, post-judgment modifications, and dependency issues. Kennetha understands that these types of cases can be emotionally charged, especially when there are children involved, and she will develop a parenting plan or marital settlement agreement that is tailored to the needs of each family. She is also a certified mediator who knows how to help clients resolve disputes without litigation.

In addition to her family law practice, Kennetha has an agency practice dealing with licensing and disciplinary issues with the Florida Department of Health, primarily involving the Florida Boards of Medicine, Osteopathy, Dentistry, Podiatry and Nursing, as well as the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Department of Insurance, the Department of Agriculture and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Kennetha lectures on risk management to health care groups and organizations.

Kennetha Julien has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2000. Throughout her career, she has handled and tried both jury and non-jury trials in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit (Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry and Glades Counties), the Twelfth Judicial Circuit (Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto Counties) and other courts throughout Florida. She is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and in the Federal Courts of Florida Middle District. Before joining Julien & Hope Law, Kennetha had her own practice in Fort Myers where she handled family, criminal, and administrative law cases.

Kennetha was born in Tampa, Florida, and grew up in Fort Myers. She attended Edison Community College and University of South Florida where she earned a B.A. in Mass Communications with a minor in Interdisciplinary Chemistry. While attending school, she worked full time as a surgical technologist. Kennetha graduated from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. While there, she became an ardent OSU Buckeye fan. After law school, she returned home to Ft. Myers where she had a solo practice focusing on family, criminal, and administrative law.

In 2007, Kennetha had an opportunity to move to Denver, Colorado, where she accepted a role with the State of Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies as Director of the Office of Expedited Settlement. Using her strong mediation skills, she worked with the leaders and board members of more than 42 boards and programs to resolve cases without litigation. She was then selected to lead the State Board of Nursing, overseeing more than 125,000 nurses, certified nurse aides, and licensed psychiatric technicians. She worked closely with the leaders of the Colorado Medical Board, Board of Pharmacy, and the Dental Board. Kennetha was very active in the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), including the Nursing Licensure Compact Administrators (NLCA).

Since returning to the Jacksonville area, Kennetha has been a strong supporter of many local organizations and schools. She is active in Creekside Christian Church and enjoys keeping current with issues related to healthcare. She is a member of various professional associations, including the Jacksonville Bar Association, St. Johns Bar Association, and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers. Kennetha lives in St. Johns with her husband, A.J. Julien, and their two sons, Cooper and Tatum. In her scant spare time, she enjoys cooking, photography, and playing ball with her family.
