Question: How can I trust a lawyer I found on the
Internet?
Answer: There are many law firms that advertise
on the Internet. Some of them have fancy websites with
800 numbers. But where are their offices? The truth is,
they are located out of State, even as far away as
California. How can someone effectively represent you
from 3,000 miles away? They can’t. You can’t go to their
offices and they aren’t going to fly to New York to
represent you at every court appearance. Many of these
‘law firms’ are simply clearinghouses; once they get
your business, they farm out your case to someone you’ve
never met or heard of.I’ve been in the same offices
in mid-town Manhattan for more than 10 years. I am not a
legal clearinghouse. I have worked in the courts in and
around New York City for nearly 20 years. In fact, I’m
in a New York courthouse most every business day. When
you call my office, I’m the one you’ll speak with. If
you’ve been arrested in California, by all means, call a
criminal defense lawyer who is based in California. But
if you’ve been arrested in New York City, call a lawyer
based in New York City who practices here on a daily
basis and who can get to the courthouse or a police
precinct within an hour of your phone call, if need be. |
